There are so many really good things to see in and around Naples that we have extended this tour to seven days. In that time, we will venture out from our 5-star hotel in the centre of the city to see contemporary private gardens, the palace at Caserta, where Joseph Banks was asked to supply an English gardener to design the English Gardens, a garden on Ischia, and a spectacular garden above Amalfi.

If this were not enough, after admiring the remarkable collection of paintings, and more, collected by the Farnese and Bourbons in the palace of Capodimonte, we will have lunch in the park. We will take a short stroll through the centre of Naples to find a painting by Caravaggio and, after admiring the hauntingly beautiful Greek temples at Paestum, we will lunch overlooking the 2,500-year-old city walls.
