Gardens, Palaces and Castles in Bohemia

This is the first time that Border Lines has a tour in Bohemia and this six-day tour is based in an Art Nouveau hotel in the centre of Prague, a city astonishingly undamaged by either World Wars or communist rule. We will spend the first day looking mainly at gardens within the city, including the Royal Gardens on either side of Prague Castle.

Over the next four days we head out into the Czech countryside to visit two contemporary private gardens; one created around a moated castle, a Rococo country house surrounded by a late 17th century garden filled with follies, inspired by the gardens at Stowe, a spectacular 19th century plantsman’s garden, the hunting lodge owned by the ill-fated Archduke Franz Ferdinand and an extraordinary, and very beautiful, Gothic cathedral built by medieval silver miners.
